As a precursor to the full EV road trip videos from the #FullyChargedUSA journey, this video takes a look at our costs across 26 charge sessions on Electrify America.
That covers a round trip of more than 4,000 miles in a week from Boston, MA to Austin, TX, with plenty of data to support the conclusion (at least for anyone driving a 2020 Chevy Bolt EV and, for the most part, previous model years of the same electric car).
Next up will be the first outbound leg from Massachusetts to Ohio and beyond, including what I can only now refer to as a “Herkimer Horror Show” and my inauspicious start with Electrify America on this long trip. Thankfully things got a lot better, as this video demonstrates, and should hopefully inspire new #ChevyBolt EV owners to embark on a road trip or two this summer!
Stay tuned for the rest of the Fully Charged videos coming in March and some new ideas that I’ll be rolling out for the channel to test the new 2020 Bolt EV and, if things pan out, a bunch of other electric cars.
Thanks for watching and please share your thoughts on #ElectrifyAmerica pricing below in the comments. Have you had insanely expensive sessions or are the costs reasonable in your opinion?
